Image – what do others see?

“Price is our only concern and we are hiring the lowest bidder”; I would be a rich man if I received a dollar for every time I have heard that statement. If honesty wasn’t such a lonely word interpreted in a void of misunderstanding, everyone should take the lowest bidder. Very often the result of taking the lowest bid is a rebidding as soon as the current contract ends. The angry phone calls, the threatening letters, the face to face meetings which change nothing for more than a day cause anxiety and a feeling of hopelessness. It should not be like that but it usually is when you choose the lowest bidder.

Why do you hire a contractor? I have always thought that the reason is for Image meaning we are attentive to our work environment making sure it is safe from germs and disease causing bacteria. It is not only clean to the eye but smells fresh and provides a comfortable atmosphere to work in. The clean windows allow the beauty of Gods creation to be seen. The cleanliness and the order in well stocked restrooms lets others know we care about their personal needs.

When a facility is clean and neat it tells your customers that you are detailed and things are in order so they can expect that their order will be as well. Don’t let the picture of your facility crowd out what you are trying to sell.
